Lampedusa - Porta d'Europa

Every day, people start their journeys for a better life in Europe. Every day, ships with people on the move arrive at the island of Lampedusa. But also every day people lose their lives on the Mediterranean Sea. The International Organisation for Migration recorded at least 2,756 dead or missing in 2023. On surveillance flights over the Mediterranean, I accompany the Mission Airborne for Sea Watch e.V.
